Senior-Level | Lackland AFB, TX | TS/SCI  

Position Summary: 

Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Mission Planner working within the 16AF/J35 Directorate.  This position is located at Lackland AFB, TX and is part of a large program supporting Air Combat Command’s (ACC) Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission. Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a Polygraph. 

Responsibilities: 

The ISR Mission Planner candidate will use their ISR domain expertise to facilitate Planning, Programing, and Execution using the Joint Planning Process.  The candidate is responsible for monitoring and providing 16 AF support to Combatant Commands (COCOMs). The candidate will provide general planning support to all 16 AF lines of effort to include Cyber, Information Operations and ISR.  The candidate will lead and/or participate in planning groups to provide operational level guidance develop/coordinate requirements for assigned Component Commands.  Further, the candidate will assist in the development of strategies to satisfy Component Command requirements resulting in the creation and implementation of operational orders to the 16th Air Force enterprise to support assigned Air Force Combat Operations.  

Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, document and orchestrate HHQ planning and events in compliance with Joint, Air Force and Intelligence Community standards and directives. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship on Joint Planning and ISR Operations to assist in the assessing and analyzing operational results and readiness.  
  • Plan and coordinate between multiple organizations to provide capabilities and resource inclusion. 
  • Develop Continuity of Operations Plans and Programs, tactics, techniques and procedures, checklists, system architectures and concepts of operation for repeated execution. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to obtain a CI polygraph. 
  • Three (3) years of contingency operations and exercise planning experience 
  • Must be able to work independently and collaborate with internal / external organizational components 
  • Analyze, translate and communicate (oral and written) complex deliberate planning aspects to senior leaders and action officers 
  • Conducts analysis using intelligence and information from multiple sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain a range of national security issues and developments that are regional or functional in nature. Provides all-source analytic support to collections, operations, investigations, and other defense intelligence analytic requirements. 
  • Required Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.  
  • Required Education: Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or have bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 15 years, as a substitute to the master’s degree. 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience supporting the ACC enterprise 
  • Prior experience assigned to HHQ (NAF and above) 
  • Demonstrated experience with Combatant Command Structure, Authorities and Responsibilities 
  • Attended a formal military planning course based on Joint Publication 5-0, Joint Planning 
  • 15 years of experience.

Mr. Cosentino is an Intelligence Professional having served within several organizations within the Intelligence Community from the Department of Energy to two Combatant Commands with the Defense Intelligence Agency. Mr. Cosentino is an all-source analyst by trade and has supported numerous strategic intelligence requirements.

Mr. Cosentino graduated from Florida International University, where he received his Bachelor’s in International Relations with a focus on National Security Studies. Throughout his time in Academia, he joined FIU’s Office of the Director of National Intelligence-sponsored Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence Intelligence Fellowship program, where he received mentorship from Intelligence professionals and rigorous training on analytic tradecraft.

Gary Ackerman

President and Chief Executive Officer

As the President and Chief Executive Officer of A2 Federal, Gary Ackerman leads and guides the vision and mission of A2 Federal to ensure its continued success across all levels of operations. Mr. Ackerman sought to create a firm dedicated to giving back to its people, and the nation’s security.

Mr. Ackerman is a retired Air Force service member, having contributed to numerous intelligence and operational missions. As an Air Force service member assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations, Mr. Ackerman served as an Operations Coordinator implementing and guiding operations across several areas of responsibilities. Following a two-decade military career, Mr. Ackerman continued his service as a Federal Contractor managing numerous intelligence and defense programs, as a Program Manager and later, Capture Manager.

Mr. Ackerman received his Associate’s in Information Resource Management from the Community College of the Air Force, and later attended a wide array Air Force and DIA leadership and operational courses. Additionally, Mr. Ackerman attended the Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute’s Foreign Language School where he studied French.

Carlos Salvat

Mr. Salvat is a career Intelligence professional having served within the ranks of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Stationed at U.S. Central Command, Mr. Salvat served within the Mission Management, Joint Target Intelligence Career Field/Specialty. Mr. Salvat worked closely with HQs, Command, and deployed units supporting counterterrorism operations and strategic planning efforts.

Mr. Salvat graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in International Relations and minor in Political Science. Throughout his time at FIU, Mr. Salvat developed a passion for public service and joined FIU’s Office of the Director of National Intelligence-sponsored Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence Intelligence Fellowship program where he later obtained an academic certificate in National Security Studies, and executive certificates in Global Security & Public Policy and Russian Language.
